Changes between 21.4 and 21.5

I keep my toolbar to the left. In 21.4, the toolbar was raised down
the entire left. In 21.5, this is no longer true. I have attached two
small gifs to show this. (Note: my background is not really light
blue, the xwd program just saved it that way.)
Is there a way to turn this off? Or is this by design. Inquiring minds
want to know!

The VERSION in the Makefile's for docbookide, ocaml, and sml-mode look good to me
The VERSION's for ecrypto and sasl may cause problems

I have installed a freshly built Xfree86-4.2.0 tree (I slighly modified the
pci database so I could use my graphic card) but is otherwise stock - nothing
else had failed so far, but xemacs appears to be having difficulty with the
XT intrinsics lib - somewhat basic no :-?
Maybe I'll just install the suse binary version after all...pity the xemacs
source has no 'make uninstall' rule :(

XEmacs 21.5-b8 crashes when attempting to load a background pixmap for
either the default face or for the modeline, either via init.el:
(set-face-background-pixmap 'default [xpm :file "~/.xemacs/beige.xpm"])
or from ~/.Xdefaults:
Emacs*EmacsFrame.default.attributeBackgroundPixmap:~/.xemacs/beige.xpm
As recently as 21.5-b3 (the version I used previously), this worked. The
string type conversion pointed to by the C backtrace [line 595 in
glyphs-x.c] was not present in beta-3:

Dear Bug Team!
XEmacs complains about unbalanced parentheses in c++-mode when
everything is OK for the human eye and the C++ compiler.
The following test case should help reproduce the problem :
In c++-mode, type the following constructor :
Scroll::Scroll(EcranPrincipal* ecran, Palette* pPalette)
: ScrollBar(ecran->getDisplay(), pPalette),
_intervalle(Intervalle(), Pas(1))
{}
Now indent the "_intervalle(Intervalle(), Pas(1))" expression by pressing tab.
XEmacs will beep and indicates you have unbalanced parentheses.

Possible problems with USE_KKCC and event-Xt.c

While comparing the implementations of USE_KKCC in event-msw.c with
those in event-Xt.c, I noticed some apparent problems. I'm not in a
position to test under X so I'm describing the problems without
offering patches.
1) In x_to_emacs_keysym at lines 1070 to 1077, the mutator macros
SET_KEY_DATA_MODIFIERS and SET_KEY_DATA_KEYSYM are used without
first creating the key data object through a call to
set_event_type. And I believe that XEVENT_DATA rather than
XKEY_DATA should be used to wrap the emacs event object.
2) In enqueue_focus_event at line 1688 the address of the x event
object is taken before the object is allocated throught the
set_event_type call.

I don't know that this patch is TheRightThang[tm], but try it anyway.
Shoot first, ask questions later, you know. Patch is mostly
whitespace reformatting---the substance is the warnings.
Untested---Debian just hosed GCC and/or glibc, can't build right now....
