Dear Bug Team!
I've just been struggling for some time (my fault, I'm not enough of
an XEmacs/PSGML expert) with the problem that, when I load an HTML
file without a doctype declaration, I always get "external entity html
not found".
I created a CATALOG of my own with a doctype entry for html, although
I later found there was one anyway in
.../xemacs/xemacs-packages/etc/psgml/CATALOG, with the entry
DOCTYPE HTML html.dtd
but it still didn't work.
Much puzzling over elisp later, I found the answer: the names of
doctypes found in catalog files are upcased, but sgml-catalog-lookup
doesn't upcase the name it tries to match against. The following patch
cures that:

It also seems sensible for the same reason to change the line in
psgml-html.el/html-mode so that it reads
sgml-default-doctype-name "HTML"
(it's unnecessary, since it will be upcased anyway, but it seems
sensible to have all literal doctypes in upper case so as to avoid
confusion (and possible bugs)).
Now it works fine: you can load un-doctyped HTML (such as that
produced by Google) into XEmacs (I have Opera set up to use XEmacs as
its source viewer) and happily play around, even with
auto-activate-dtd on.
I'm somewhat surprised no-one fixed this before, but I suppose most
people are happy to obey the command in the PSGML info that "you must
have a doctype declaration", even though the defaulting mechanisms
suggest that this is not strictly true.

package q: make install without auto-autoloads

If I do "make install" in a package that doesn't have an
auto-autoloads file, it fails.
To reproduce, I guess it would be enough to remove auto* from disk and
the Makefile on an existing package and try to compile it.

Dear Bug Team!
The keywork expansion in JDE for java expands keywords such as if,
while, try etc. into skeleton code snippets.
However when writing javadoc comments in a java file, this expansion
is still active, so whenever the common words if, else and while are
used in a javadoc comment, JDE puts a code snippet rigth in the middle
of the phrose!
For ordinary comments in the code, the keyword expansion is swithched
off, my request is that in future releases it will also be switched
off within javadoc comments.

Is there any plan in the works to update mew? The current version is
2.2 and it seems to run fine on XEmacs. But the latest in packages is
1.94 and it does NOT seem to run fine. It requires a fair amount of
massaging to get it to work.

I have updated semantic to version 1.4.
I have pending patches for jde, eieio and speedbar but will not apply for
the moment since they reflect beta versions of these packages.

Allright, I think it's time to move 5 new packages from the unsupported
area to official xemacs-packages tree: ecrypto and sasl from
unsupported/simon, and docbookide, ocaml and sml-mode from
unsupported/scop.
I suggest a repository move this time, since IMO it's not important to
have traces about these in the unsupported area. If a normal cvs rm/add
procedure is preferred, let me know and I'll do it.
I will also update other stuff in the packages tree needed for these.
Entries in CVSROOT/avail is needed for Simon to be able to maintain
ecrypto and sasl, and no extra entries for the other packages.
Simon, scream if you don't think ecrypto or sasl should be moved yet or
if I was wrong assuming that you'll take the maintainership for these :)

Dear Bug Team!
Trying to "M-x sql-db2", I find that the DB2 command window appears
*outside* xemacs rather than in a command processor buffer (like shell
does).
