Just a note, in case I forget it: in Info mode, a left click on a link should follow it, not simply put point in that piece of text. Rationale: anyone clicking, instead of using the keyboard, isn’t an expert Emacs user, and as such is more likely to be used to web browsers’ behaviour than that of Emacs. I can't display a message in gnus. 19 years, 1 month

Hello, I compile and use the : "XEmacs 21.5 (beta18) \"chestnut\" (+Xft+CVS-20041209) [Lucid] (i686-pc-linux, Mule) of Thu Feb 24 2005 on petoncle" I use gnus for my mails : "Gnus v5.10.6" And I can't display some mime-mails. I get in the message-line : Symbol's function definition is void: xft-xlfd-font-name-p The head of the mail is bellow : Is it an xemacs error, a gnus error, a error in my configuration files ? The New MacOS X port. 19 years, 1 month

For those who don't read comp.emacs.xemacs, Andrew Choi has announced a new port to XEmacs (http://members.shaw.ca/akochoi-xemacs/index.html). This port is not based on Pitts Jarvis's efforts. I've been comparing the two versions and I'm most impressed by the new version. It's a much more conservative effort which makes it easier to understand. It also builds using the standard './configure ; make ; make install' sequence rather than the existing convoluted process. I find the combination attractive to work on. Others may think so too. I'd like this version to be adopted as the MacOS port with a view to incorporating it into the mainline in the nearish future. Thoughts anyone? Malcolm -- Malcolm Purvis <malcolmp(a)xemacs.org>

In this case this is correct, since variant 1 only contains a char, so this variant has not to be processed. This should break for variant 2, which contains Lisp_Objects that have to be marked. Those wouldn't get marked then (at least not through this branch of the mark tree). Anyways, I couldn't produce this situation, maybe they get marked by another branch. So this really is a bug on _all_ systems, not only on sparc. I don't know why this causes a crash on sparc. Maybe it has problems with the not aligned integer cast. But this is just a guess. Anyways, it is good that it did! SM> - system has to be little endian? XEmacs 21.5.18 still doesn't support some Unicode characters which are supported by Emacs 21.3. For example: U+201E DOUBLE LOW-9 QUOTATION MARK U+263A WHITE SMILING FACE See the attached test-file which can be displayed correctly by Emacs 21.3 but not by XEmacs 21.5.18. 21.5 Build Failure - XtRegisterDrawable on SunOS-5.5 19 years, 1 month
