Invalid read syntax: Expected, ("lambda" cl-lambda-list def-body)
This is a 4 year old bug:

Dear Bug Team!
I'd like to upgrade some packages, so I listed them (with
Tools|Packages|List and Install), selected a few, pressed x and
confirmed. It seems that the first selected package downloads and
installs OK, but then the process stops on "Invalid operation:
Selecting deleted or non-existent buffer" (see Recent messages
below - after the first failure, I restarted XEmacs and tried again,
making sure I wasn't selecting any buffers). I see no problem with the
download - as far as I can say, the package has been upgraded. XEmacs
shouldn't have any problem either.

Hello Stephen, Steve, Vin!
Ville found many instances of Xemacs in release announcements while
working on xemacsweb improvements.
Funny I never noticed these.
Please change any scripts or templates you may have to use XEmacs
instead.
We spend some time on comp.emacs.xemacs accasionally pointing out that
XEmacs is the only correct spelling :-)

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:
call-prcess-region does not return process exit status even when
BUFFER argument is not 0.

hi all
i keep getting this error
Wrong type argument: number-char-or-marker-p, "3000"
it happens rather alot not sure what triggers it yet
the only thing i have changed recently was to update to the latest FreeBSD 4.6 stable
it started happening after i did that
i did a rebuild of XEmacs after i rebuild FreeBSD and the error is
still there

FWIW, at least as far as I'm concerned, I don't think it's a good idea
to credit me for essentially clerical work here; it clutters the logs,
and separates parts of the same fix. Hrvoje would have done it if he
had realized there wasn't an existing EXFUN, and understands why it
was done better than I do. So it's best to give him the
responsibility and credit for the whole change, and not just the part
he posted.
If it had actually been committed, and somebody then had to patch it,
that would be different.

I don't know of a newgroup called comp.xemacs. That may explain the
silence:-)
Use comp.emacs.xemacs for discussions about released XEmacs versions
only (currently 21.1.x)
xemacs-beta(a)xemacs.org or xemacs-design(a)xemacs.org would be better
suited for this particular topic.
