I just noticed something weird regarding b57 vc. In the modeline of one buffer, it says "(C++ CVS-1.4 PenDel Font)". Another buffer says "(C++ CVS:1.4 PenDel Font)". Why are they different? NOTICE ^

Problems compiling XEmacs 21.0 under Solaris 2.5 25 years, 6 months

Well, compiling with normal cc didn't work either, but I'm trying to locate our SparcWorks compiler (I know we have one, but my area of expertise is sendmail and majordomo, so this app. support stuff is not my bag). Process on TTY: is it possible? 25 years, 6 months

OK, here is a totally dumb question: say you have XEmacs running on a TTY. Is it possible to start an interactive process such as Lynx? Neither do I. I congratulate all the people out there who test XEmacs by loading sample.emacs as their .emacs. You are much hardier testers than I am, and I appreciate each and every one of you who do so. The basic question as Martin has raised it to me in conversation over the phone, is why do all the defaults suck? `xemacs -vanilla' stinks. If there is anyone who can stand editing in an `xemacs -vanilla' environment for any time longer than to reproduce a bug someone has reported, please speak up, otherwise let's have some discussion on changing defaults around. I *know* I'm going to hate the consensus, but if there are fewer people who hate the defaults the result will be positive. Um, no holds barred, please feel free to flame away.
