I've seen this also What I did to get it to work was touch the file. package update bug 25 years, 7 months

I am getting problems updating my packages under the latest beta. Basically I get: "Doign chmod: NO such file or directory, <sompath>/pkginfo/MANIFEST.somepkg" and the update aborts (so I can't update everything). Surely this error is not a showstopper? gnuclient 25 years, 7 months

did someone weird happen with gnuclient with this latest beta or is it me? if I say gnuclient file, a window pops up, but not with file. It has a dired buffer of the current directory. i haven't upgraded any packages yet, i've just gone from the an xemacs compiled from the cvs checkin Steve did on the weekend to an xemacs compiled from a fresh download of this morningins release candidate. jeff

Commas are OK in a URL but happen to confuse the Netscape remote-control thing.
