Depending on where the crashes are occurring you might be able to use the same fix I made for Linux/glibc and EGCS. Hopefully you are crashing after the call to exit ... I forced a non-standard link to use "C"-only startup files (eliminated some of the constructor stuff) *and* turned off free'ing at exit time (eliminating all destructor stuff) by using a blackhole __free_hook. If you are using the old GNU malloc included with XEmacs or the system malloc supports (the equivalent of) __free_hook, you should be able to do the same thing. See the code that references `voodoo_free_hook' in src/emacs.c.

What's going on with that item? Under Unix, it's grayed out. If anything, I think it it should be removed rather than grayed out. Even better, it should be fixed so it works. On b44 under Windows, it is clickable, and selecting it results in a beep and "/bin/sh: no such file or directory". There are old versions of mule fonts in ftp://ftp.xemacs.org/pub/xemacs/aux/fonts/ but the mega Mule font tarball with Emacs 20.2 is probably an easier install.

I'm presently using RedHat 5.1 and kde as the desktop (for my two user directories). I downloaded all the tarballs, switched to su to run make finder and make install. It appears to have build with gif, but I don't have minegame installed so I can't test quickly. Also, at one time, ftp.xemacs had a font tarball, if I remember correctly. Is it still there? I now have a domain ogoense. Hi there, This is just an informational message about XEmacs on Digital Unix 4.0d. I still cannot build a straight system, always have to use -gung-ho. I do not know enough about the XEmacs internals to debug this, but no one else has. This may get to the level of annoyance that I may just expend the effort to fix it, but I like have zero time. We are at critical mass to get work done on our team right now, and we wont be able to hire until our new masters have trimmed what they want to trim. Since I like XEmacs, I will try to ensure that it compiles in some way under Digital Unix and DEC C, but since the binaries that you distribute on the ftp site use GNU C and that probably still works, I am not very worried. I would like to know if someone fixes the problem though so If you can mention interesting things like that when the betas come out, that would be cool. I will keep lurking on the list and doing what little I can.
