Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:
Once in a while, when I switch desktops, Xemacs hangs while repainting
the frame. Usually I have emacs frames (may be more than one) in all
my desktops - 10 of them. I can't reproduce this at will, but this
occurs almost every day and is not dependant on how long it has been
running. I can't relate it with the X/system load also. I am running
Windowmaker on top of openwindows. I tried using Xemacs 21.5 beta and
there also ran into the same trouble.

Buffer tabs get out of sync on compilation

Dear Bug Team!
when I save my changes in some source code buffer and want to compile
the changed file, I run the 'compile' command (which I have set up on
single-key shortcut, without interaction [1]). It works fine - the
frame is split into 2 windows, the bottom one shows the make output
while the source stays visible in the top window (which also keeps the
cursor) - *except* the line of tabs on the top of the frame (very nice
- makes XEmacs look a bit like JBuilder :-) ) changes from the list of
source file names to a single *compilation* tab (or *compilation* and
*grep* tabs, when I also have the *grep* buffer). It's as if the focus
changed to the *compilation* buffer - which it probably did,
temporarily, but the change is clearly supposed to be invisible, and
IMHO it should be invisible: the state of the tab bar should reflect
the selected window, right?

Dear Bug Team!
I attempted to update packages (tools/packages/update installed packages)
yesterday, and every internet site I tried came back "ftp.blah... does not
appear to be a pty". Today when I launch xemacs (Academic Rigor release on
Win2k), I get a console window listing one package after another with the
message "Loading c:\Program
Files\XEmacs\xemacs-packages\lisp\zenirc\auto-autoloads...done (file
auto-autoloads.el is newer)" (for each package I have installed), then the
regular xemacs window appears. What gives?

Hi,
I've been trying to use subj. (installed the net-utils package
last week to get it), but it just says
Cannot open load file: sendmail
In case it matters, I have a mail server configured on my machine
(SuSE Linux) but it isn't sendmail - it's qmail.
XEmacs is from today's CVS (xemacs-21.5); I'm including the buffer
of Tools|Packages|List and Install in case I'm missing some
dependency. If there is any aditional info you need please let me
know.

I noticed that there is at least one problem in:
ftp://ftp.xemacs.org/packages/apel-1.21-pkg.tar.gz
Maybe SUMO has the same problem, I haven't confirmed it though.
The file pccl.elc is compiled for XEmacs with MULE and it
requires the feature `ccl'. Non-MULE XEmacs users should never
use this. If you have a need to use APEL for some packages,
e.g. emacs-w3m, you may install APEL as an XEmacs package using
`make install-package'. The source tarball is available in:

Crash on (format-time-string "%s" '(-1 0 0)) on Windows

Happens in both xemacs-21.4 and latest XEmacs beta on Windows.
The problem is that list_to_time allows negative integers at the head of
the time list. Hence a negative time is returned. In the case localtime
on Windows returns NULL. The code does not check for it.
The patch below fixes the problem. It was tested on Windows 2000.
