Ben, I *really* thought this was added to the packages :-< The color and next icons are uncaptioned. Therefore you must turn off captioning to see them. The following line does this: (set-specifier toolbar-buttons-captioned-p nil) You should set this just before calling init-fancy-toolbar. I do not know why they would come on in a new frame. reproducible crash in 21.1.4 in tcl-mode 25 years, 5 months

I've got a reproducible crash running XEmacs 21.1.4 under Solaris 2.6 compiled with gcc. tcl-mode version is 1.50. Recipe: * xemacs -vanilla * M-x tcl-mode * \[ \] Lisp backtrace: skip-syntax-backward("/\\") # (unwind-protect ...) blink-matching-open() self-insert-command(1) # bind (arg) tcl-electric-char(1) # bind (command-debug-status) call-interactively(tcl-electric-char) # (condition-case ... . error) # (catch top-level ...) I don't have gdb or any other debugger installed right now, or I'd send in a C backtrace... sorry. -Jin

I don't know if this will fix the bug, but I'm pretty sure the redefinition of normal-mode for tar purposes is no longer necessary. IIRC it redefined normal mode to catch tar files containing the -*- lines and prevent tar files being thrown to the wrong mode. This is now handled with the `inhibit-first-line-modes-regexps' variable. So: try removing the code in tar-mode that overrides the `normal-mode' and see whether things work out for you.
