The last stage of gc clears all marks (or the next gc would not work right), and anyway one should not test for marking outside of gc, no? OG.

What's the problem exactly ? Well, I said it. -R/usr/dt/lib is not added to the link path, so conftests die with "killed: cannot locate libXm.so.3" or the like. Do you have LD_LIBRARY_PATH set in your environment? I really hate it when tarfiles unpack in more than one directory, it also very annoying when you have to unpack the binary, the common and the sumo tarball in different directories. My feeling is that as long as XEmacs thinks bindir/../xemacs is special we better make sure this exists. It is easier to persuade capable people to just rename the tree if they need it somewhere different. Alternatively we could just unpack everything into some xemacs-bla.bla directory and have the sysadmin move/copy the whole tree. Jan

Dynodump hosed in 21.2? 27 years, 1 month

Either something is seriously hosed in 21.2, or I am missing something really obvious. I am unable to build 21.2, obtained by CVS checkout, on my usual system. In 21.2, -L/usr/dt/lib is used, but without the appropriate -R. This makes conftests fail and ultimately configure to abort. Note that -R/usr/openwin/lib is there.
