Dired 7.10 bug: dired-do-copy fails on directories on win2000 20 years, 10 months

hi after a quick discussion on c.e.x it might by reasonable to raise the following issue as a bug: dired-do-copy fails when applied to a directory. the error message is: Copy [-p] `c:\apache\ampersand' to `c:\apache\peter' failed: (file-error Opening input file Permission denied c:\_idx\spider\6.5\apache\ampersand) strangely enough rename and delete both work fine, copying in ms windows explorer works and dired-copying with an GNU emacs worked as well. happy fixing! %-) (or if it's not a bug, what do i do wrong?) leooo ps: maybe important: i have installed emacs 21.4.10 natively but cywin is on the system present. You should be able to customize the variable after first visiting a file which will cause cc-mode to be loaded. xemacs-beta: c-default-style should probably get an autoload cookie? Upgrading to 21.4.13 is a good idea to pick up the latest XEmacs core bugfixes. broken iso-8-1 recognition dump 20 years, 10 months

Version: 21.5 Recognition of iso-8-1 coding category is broken. An attached file is iso-8859-5 text (mixed Russian and English). It contains only characters allowed in iso 8-bit codings. iso-8-1 detector from 21.4 detects it as such, and detecting it as iso-8-1 (at least "slightly-likely") in 21.5 is also expected. Fortunately, the beginning and end of file do not contain 8-bit characters, so debug print does not abort on it. abort on 8-bit debug print 20 years, 10 months

Version: 21.5 Xemacs always aborts when trying to display 8-bit text when debug-coding-detection is set. Sending both iso8859-5 file which was being visited (and code-detected) and gdb output on abort (which also includes 8-bit text). Feel free to request additional info.

Buffers Window Frame problem 20 years, 10 months

Hi, I'm getting a strange and rather hard to describe problem with emacs-version "21.5 (beta14) \"cassava\" (+CVS-20030610) XEmacs Lucid" on a RH9 system. I can't reproduce it with "vanilla" so it could be some subtle interference with elisp problem as well. (Works OK in 21.4 though!) The problem is that when I have multiple windows in a frame the buffers can get switched with out me doing anything. My guess is that is has to do with the update of the modeline where I have the time displayed. (display-time-echo-area = t) When the time is updated in the modeline I can get a buffer switch in one of the windows. Like when I use Gnus the *article* and *subject* buffers might be replaced with the *Group* buffer. Yours -- %% Mats

The memory usage is ridiculous 20 years, 10 months

When trying to open a 766Mb latin-1 (spanish) file with xemacs-mule, the memory usage when all the way to 2.1Go before xemacs bitched for lack of addressing space (aka, out of memory). Such an expansion ratio is ridiculous. Anyone knows what the hell is going on and whether it's fixable? OG.
