Problem Building auctex 22 years, 4 months

When I try to 'make autoloads' in the latest auctex in my non-mule XEmacs, I get the following error: xemacs -vanilla -batch \ -eval "(setq autoload-package-name \"auctex\")" \ -l autoload -f batch-update-directory . Updating autoloads in directory /opt/build/xemacs-packages-2001-12-09/xemacs-packages/auctex... Generating autoloads for auctex/_pkg.el... No autoloads found in auctex/auc-old.el Generating autoloads for auctex/bib-cite.el... Generating autoloads for auctex/font-latex.el... Generating autoloads for auctex/latex.el... No autoloads found in auctex/lpath.el No autoloads found in auctex/multi-prompt.el No autoloads found in auctex/tex-buf.el Generating autoloads for auctex/tex-info.el... Generating autoloads for auctex/tex-jp.el... Unbalanced parentheses xemacs exiting. make: *** [auto-autoloads.el] Error 255 .... OK, I just built a mule XEmacs, and with that I could successfully complete 'make autoloads' in auctex. So auctex now has a dependency on a mule XEmacs, and for a non-mule package, that's a no-no. - vin

This happens only when I attempt to open a file that has something to do with /cygdrive. Using packages from Windows XEmacs 22 years, 4 months

Dear Helper I have been able to download the packages from within the Windows version of xemacs, but I cannot use the packages that I have downloaded in xemacs. Eg. I've downloaded ispell and auctex, and the automatic installer confirms this because it indicates its been downloaded. Then I try to use the package (eg. invoke the spell function) and xemacs gives this error message: Searching for program: No such file or directory, ispell can you please help? Cheers, Hong
