Bug in coding-system-list 24 years, 9 months

Function coding-system-list is supposed to list all coding-systems. But in 21.2.19, it can not list alias names. For example, (memq 'big5 (coding-system-list)) -> (big5 ...) (memq 'cn-big5 (coding-system-list)) -> nil (find-coding-system 'cn-big5) -> #<coding_system big5> This bug only exists in b19 not in previous versions because b19 uses `define-coding-system-alias' instead of `copy-coding-system'. Most packages call their bug report function (package-name)-submit-bug-report. It might be nice to rename XEmacs bug-reporting function to something like xemacs-submit-bug-report. Gleb

It is set-buffer-multibyte in > Emacs. I'd just say screw it to the whole mess - these dont _DO_ anything in XEmacs, which is what compatibility variables are supposed to be for. This variable is causing nothing but problems, and programs will be doing the WRONG THING when they try to set it, even though they think they are being correct. > Note, however, that some packages use setq-default to set it, and > default-value to read its value. Problems with ftp.xemacs.org & www.xemacs.org? 24 years, 9 months

Package downloads have been painfully slow an hung numerous times today in the timeframe of 16:00-18:00 MET DST. Got as low as 900B - 4KB/s transfer rates. Currently (21:00-22:00 MET DST) http://www.xemacs.org does not respond. http://cvs.xemacs.org is OK. Adrian
