In XEmacs 21.0 "20 minutes to Nikko" [Lucid] (i586-pc-linux) of Fri Mar 26 1999 on sauna
configured using `configure '--cflags=-O3 -g -Wall -pipe' --with-dialogs=athena --gung-ho --prefix=/usr/local'
Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:
start gnus, push g to reread news stuff, try to read nnml group

Trouble building finder database under 21.2.13.

I'm having trouble building xemacs-21.2.13 under Irix 6.2. I'm building
with egcs-1.1.2. I configured as:
./configure --prefix=/usr/local --gung-ho --debug=no --error-checking=none
--site-includes=/usr/local/include --site-libraries=/usr/local/lib32
During the run of make the following occured:

FWIW, I agree with Charles in this.
If you put a new user directly into W3 there could be some confusion in
that mouse-1 doesn't "work", however there's no confusion if the user
comes from *XEmacs* -- you know that when something gets highlighted
by moving the mouse cursor over it it means you can press the middle
button to select it.
A new user will learn this quickly, although there could maybe be some
trouble if the user kept switching between Netscape and W3 all the time.
I don't think that's a big problem and in any case it's a small price to
pay for a consistent XEmacs interface.
IMHO, of course.

If anything is deprecated, it is outl-mouse.

For portability to FSF GNU Emacs, it is probably better to use imenu
instead of func-menu.

That is correct. Tweaking of packages for func-menu is done in the
func-menu code itself.

Jason[1] is the binary kit manager. Public releases of XEmacs 21.1
will be made frequently. I don't know how binary kits are going to
work with this, but I'm sure we'll get something worked out.

Yes, this is annoying to the max! I have to make screenshots of error
message confirmer boxes to capture the text bits in them. Makes me
wonder what computers are for if I can't get at the data they show me.

Software Mule symposium. Today's guest XEmacs releaser is Didier
Verna -- see group picture at a URL to be named later.
The SUMO lisp and packaged lisp will be updated before the end of the
month. Time constraints and the m17n99 Symposium have prevented
getting it updated earlier. The next beta release of 21.2 will be
made sometime around the first weekend of April and the first 21.1
release will be made about the same time.

Okay, I did install XEmacs from cvs (no problems), got xemacs-packages
from cvs and did a make. I changed into the folders of packages I
wanted and did a make STAGING=/opt/lib/xemacs-21.0-b67 install.
So far so good but where do I have to tell XEmacs to load all this
packages automatically when strting up? Is there some init-file I'll
have to edit by hand?
Where did I miss the catch?
