This unifies the mswindows and tty event loops under cygwin. gnuclient -nw
does the right thing if you have a mswindows frame up. I get messages in
both echo areas currently - I don't know whether this is supposed to
happen. GUEL (Grand Unified Event Loop) is a larger leap away.

* event-tty.c (tty_find_console_from_fd): rename from
find_console_from_fd.
(emacs_tty_next_event): use tty_find_console_from_fd.
* event-msw.c (emacs_mswindows_select_console): ignore selection
of mswindows consoles otherwise do the unixoid thig.
(emacs_mswindows_unselect_console): ditto.
* console-tty.h: declare tty_find_console_from_fd();
* event-msw.c (mswindows_need_event): always use select if we have
a msg based select. If tty events are pending, process them.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing you on behalf of the XEmacs maintainers. As you might
know XEmacs (www.xemacs.org) is an enhanced and separately maintained
version of the Emacs editor maintained by the Free Software Foundation. As a
consequence of that, and by choice, XEmacs falls under the GNU Public
Licence (GPL). One of the enhancements is a toolbar.
Because some users were dissatisfied with the plain look of the
standard XEmacs icons several alternative sets appeared. Currently we
are looking at distributing these alternatives officially. A
particular interesting set is made Jonathan Leffert. They have been
available from his web page for some time but are not really widely
known among XEmacs users. We would like to distribute these icons. In
particular we would like to do so under the GPL.
Where does the OmniGroup come into this? Jonathan made these by
adapting from icons used by Omniweb. Here he describes how he made them:

We would very much like the permission from the Omnigroup to
distribute these icons under the GPL.

Somewhat in between. That means however that the problem should be
solvable. So the question is now: Why is device-type returning
'mswindows for X frames..

Bingo. I got gnuclient to work under X and native only after setting
GNU_SECURE to /etc/hosts.

have you actually seen this on Solaris7? That one report on c.e.x
looked kind of fuzzy to me and only mentioned a couple of X errors if
I remember correctly.
Can somebody with access to Solaris 7 build with motif and try this?

Hi there... I've been fighting with this build for a couple of weeks
now with no real success yet. Here's the latest info. At the moment
my make fails while "building the finder database", the relevant
target from GNUmakefile is:

21.0.63 crash in xlw_menubar init for bad locale

In XEmacs 21.0 "Pyrenean63" [Lucid] (i586-pc-linux, Mule) of Fri Feb 5 1999 on tanko
configured using `configure --prefix=/playpen/gnu --exec-prefix=/playpen/gnu/plat --with-mule --with-xim=xlib --with-xfs --with-sound=both --use-union-type=yes --debug --gung-ho=yes '--cflags=-g -O3 -fno-caller-saves -Wall -Wno-switch''
There's something wrong with my Debian `unstable' system, and it
doesn't seem to have a C/POSIX locale. !! This results in "X doesn't
even support C locale" message, of course, and the following crash and
backtrace. This is probably an Xlib or Xt bug in the current
development tree, but maybe XEmacs can work around it? Broken locales
are going to be common on Linux systems (Japanese, anyway) as glibc is
looking like it might finally support widechar locales properly in the
near future. I'm not particularly confident that the various
distributions will get this right in the first releases....
In my environment, setting LC_ALL=<any available locale> works fine.
I will try to rebuild without XFS since the code in input-method-xfs.c
seems to be duplicated in input-method-xlib.c, and maybe this causes
some weirdness.

This patch extends yesterdays patch to allow psgml-html to preview
html using kfm.
Note that it is not necessary to check whether kfm is running. If you
use kde then kfm has to be running.
