Dear Bug Team!
Editing JSP pages could be much improved in XEmacs.
There are old unresolved problems with indentation:

For example, the indentation html mode comes up here:

Ideally jsp pages could automatically incorporate an interface to
mmm-mode or its equivalent to handle JavaScript.
JavaScript mode needs some kind of "consult buffer" or "eval-defun" as
well.

Frames without minibuffer are not displayed correctly on X device.
The lowest line of non-minibuffer window in the frame gets overlapped
with modeline as shown in an attached window dump.

A trivial solution to my earlier report would be to simply eliminate
the blatant closure of all filedescriptors as described in the attached
patch.
Let me know if there is a better solution.

When I try and access http://www.ashwaterparish.org.uk using w3 (M-x
browse-url-w3 http://www.ashwaterparish.org.uk), the page is downloaded but

How to insert a mathematicsl symbol

Dear helpers,
I am using Xemacs 21.4 to edit a html file which has one or two
mathematical symbol, say, lambda. I know in general I can using latex to
transfer to html. But the problem is that this is the homepage which has
a lot of html tags, such as hyperlinks. I am wondering what can I do?

DOS & UNIX file formats in Xemacs

Hi,
I am using xemacs on windows XP, if I want to edit a file and save it in Unix format as opposed to DOS format, what should I do ? Is it possible to save files in Unix format using Xemacs on Windows.

Outdated package-index.LATEST.pgp - package 'ecb is missing

Hi,
have just installed XEmacs with the latest Windows Netinstaller.
All packages including the 'ecb package.
After that `pui-list-packages' lists all packages but 'ecb....
After some searching i found that 'ecb is not contained in the
file package-index.LATEST.pgp installed by the Netinstaller for Windows.
Norbert Koch has pointed me to the file package-index.LATEST.pgp
available at <ftp://ftp.xemacs.org:/xemacs/packages> ftp.xemacs.org:/xemacs/packages. This one contains
the latest 'ecb package.
After replacing the version installed by the Netinstaller with the new one down-
loaded from <ftp://ftp.xemacs.org:/xemacs/packages> ftp.xemacs.org:/xemacs/packages all is working fine, means
the package 'ecb is displayed by `pui-list-packages' and can be deinstalled
and installed.
Seems that the Netinstaller has an outdated version of package-index.LATEST.pgp.
Can this be possible??
It would be good, if the XEmacs installed via Windows Netinstalled would contain an
up-to-date version of package-index.LATEST.pgp so also the package 'ecb is known
by the package-manager of XEmacs.
Can anyone fix this?

It seems that when Xemacs gives me a dialog and I click the button,
Xemacs segv's. If I don't use the button, but instead just hit return
to
take the default action, no crash.

(hello-world)
I got the string "Hello World" by the second form, but nil by
the fourth form. I am at a loss for words...
