Upon mail sent quite often Emacs crashes.
Here is the output:

Hi,
I am able to give some more specific information.
1. The problem does not exist when I use XEmacs the regular way.
2. I have VisEmacs.dll ( to open files from MSDEV ) using gnuclient.exe and
gnuclientw.exe
3. The gnuserv.el which comes with XEmacs for some reason does not work with
gnuclientw.exe
gnuclient version: gnuclient 1.7 (27 Feb 1997) I did not get a later build
on NT (I could not make it build either from source on NT).
4. I replaced with the latest I got from the net and this works with the
gnuclient.
5. When I open a file thru gnuclientw.exe, I can never open a folder (with \\
sep) as mentioned below.
I know this may not be the right test scenerio. I was an observation or problem
I faced. Does anyone have a later build of gnuclient (or equivalent ) ?

Hi,
I am using the latest beta built on my machine, NT SP 4.0 and i589-pc-win32
configuration.
XEmacs 21.5 (beta3) "asparagus" [Lucid] (i586-ps-win32, Mule)
Problem Description:
1. I type C-xf or M-x find-file
2. Select a directory/folder (not file)
3. It does not open up (nothing happens).
4. I change all back slashes (directory seperator on windows) to forward slash
(as in Unix).
5. Things work just fine!!
I would like to know why the "*Message*" buffer is absent. I do not get to
see any error reporting. I feel we should have "*Message*" buffer or equivalent
by default as in Emacs.

Dear Bug Team!
This is not so much a bug as an infelicity: in XEmacs 21.4.4, the
above-mentioned flag is set to nil when XEmacs starts up if it is
initially t. This means that if you look at the customization setting,
then it appears to be switched off, even if it is on. This confused me
when trying to work out why wwi appeared not to be working; this was
the obvious cause, but in fact was a total red herring.

Dear Bug Team!
I have another problem:
How can I open a directory for dired?
The windows file selection dialog allowes me only to open a file. If
I select one I have a dired view with only this file. Of course, I
can then select the directory (by selecting the buffers first line),
but that is not very comfortable. Furthermore, this forces to have a
file in an directory.
I have another question: what happend to the old file select dialog?
Can I still use it (sometimes :-) ? For me that old selection dialog
has one advantage: I can faster open my files, because I only have to
type the first chars of it and can then use tab.

Dear Bug Team!
I found a bug in the function that compares buffers. The problem
is the following:
If one of the buffers name is of length 1, then the error message
'Args out of range: "x", 1' is displayed ("x" is the name of the
buffer).
A second problem, which came with change from version 21.3.? to 21.4,
is that some buffers contain ^M at the end of lines. What can I do to
get rid of them?

Hi,
I am using the latest beta built on my machine, NT SP 4.0 and i589-pc-win32
configuration.
XEmacs 21.5 (beta3) "asparagus" [Lucid] (i586-ps-win32, Mule)
Problem Description:
1. I type C-xf or M-x find-file
2. Select a directory/folder (not file)
3. It does not open up (nothing happens).
4. I change all back slashes (directory seperator on windows) to forward slash
(as in Unix).
5. Things work just fine!!
I would like to know why the "*Message*" buffer is absent. I do not get to
see any error reporting. I feel we should have "*Message*" buffer or equivalent
by default as in Emacs.

Hi
I am running 21.4.3 on W2000 with MKS ksh as a log shell.
When I start a shell I get:
Forked child base mismatch: 2000000 1000000!
It only happens with a log shell and only with the default profile.ksh and
environ.ksh.
Further, if there are no $HOME/profile.ksh or $HOME/environ.ksh files, then
these messages appear, but the command prompt also appears afterwards.
If there are $HOME files, then the prompt does not appear and the shell just
hangs.
MKS say it isn't them.
Any ideas anyone?

We're currently using XEmacs v21.1.14 on Solaris 2.6, but are preparing to
upgrade to Solaris 8. Can you please tell me if you provide a 32-bit and
64-bit version of XEmacs and for how long you plan on supporting them?
