I started thinking about that with MIME support in sendmail.el, but
I'm not sure it is a good idea -- large parts of Gnus is dragged into
mail-lib. No problem with that, but it might cause some confusion if
someone (not unreasonable) wanted to think like "I need qp.el, it's
part of Gnus, so I grab the XEmacs Gnus package". Hm. But they would
need the mail-lib package to get the gnus package to work
anyway... ah, I dunno. Syncing the packages would be a little messier
as well (especially if we spread out files into several packages, not
only mail-lib).
It probably is a good idea. The MIME stuff needed for sendmail.el was
fairly standalone, and it might be a good idea to make it completely
standalone anyway. The same might apply to other "internet" files as
well.
