gtk-xemacs resource question 24 years, 3 months

OK, I built gtk-xemacs (21.1.11 gtk) I used to set my colors from xrdb: emacs*Background: DarkSlateGray emacs*Foreground: Wheat emacs*bitmapIcon: on emacs*cursorColor: Orchid emacs*font: fixed emacs*pointerColor: Orchid emacs.geometry: 80x25 Now these seem to be ignored. Any ideas on setting them? I'm using kde2-beta4.

Viper and pixmap background conflict 24 years, 3 months

Hi, I find the pixmap background picture really cool. I now do my editing over a beautiful mountain landscape. The only problem is that this has a bizarre interaction with Viper. Backspacing in insert mode is very, very slow and it lags behind my typing. The same thing applies to holding down return. It seems to be redrawing the whole screen whenever I press return or backspace in insert mode. I have narrowed this down to cursor color. Viper changes the color of the cursor to green when in insert mode. If I turn off this handy feature, return and backspace in insert mode work at a normal speed. It seems like Viper changes this a lot, as backward-delete-char resets the cursor color to the default (???? is this a bug?). So, by this theory, Viper would be changing the cursor color every time I press backspace or return in insert mode, and for some reason changing the cursor color using (modify-frame-parameters) would redraw the screen. That would explain why these keys lag behind me. I'm wondering who's bug this is and how I can help to fix it. This is XEmacs 21.1.12 on X-Windows and the Viper that comes with it. [gtk-xemacs] Bug trying to shutdown with unsaved buffer 24 years, 3 months

GTK Xemacs compiled yesterday from the gtk-xemacs-latest.tar.bz2 tarball. With the -vanilla switch, open a new buffer, write something in it and try to exit with the menu (without saving first). It says "Wrong type argument: framep, nil" Oscar

In testing gtk-xemacs-21.1.11 I see two small visual problems. With my xemacs window all the way to the right side of the screen, clicking on "Help" causes the help menu to be displayed with most of the text clipped off the right side of the screen. Also, when entering text that goes to the bottom of the screen, the screen doesn't scroll automatically enough so that the bottom of the text I'm entering is clipped. I'm using kde-beta4 if that matters.
