Autoload error in: ...: Cannot open load file: mule 25 years, 4 months

I'm running 21.1.3 with the latest packages, and I get the following warning in the warnings window at startup, even with xemacs -vanilla: (1) (warning/warning) Autoload error in: /usr/lib/xemacs/xemacs-packages/lisp/lookup/auto-autoloads: Cannot open load file: mule /usr/lib/xemacs/xemacs-packages/lisp/lookup/auto-autoloads I don't see the string "mule" in the indicated file, but there are some weird control-character strings in there. This one says: (package-provide 'lookup :version 1.01 :type 'regular) Any ideas? -Justin vallon(a)mindspring.com

Shouldn't the configurables at the top of XEmacs.rules be pulled out and put into `Local.rules' as well? I've made a few modifications to `XEmacs.rules' to make it possible to run in place from a CVS checkout. I use `cp --recursive --symlink' as RCOPY, to make a symlink tree, have a switch to turn off creation of tarfiles in STAGING, and have made a few other changes (rooting paths at `/' so the `cp' works right). I believe it is still compatible with your version. (Yous require GNU make anyhow, right?) Would anyone like to have a copy of it to test? Should I submit a patch? Do you want to keep the commented off stuff in the targets near the bottom? (I've deleted it in my version.) The symlink tree starts in STAGING, and that's where I point the XEmacs' package-path when I build it. It works very well... I can use `find-library' or `find-function', and it asks whether to follow the symlink to the CVS controlled source. A `make in-place' at the top builds everything and creates the symlinks. I've been using it since about Feb. 1999.

I believe you parsed the sentence in a way that wasn't intended. Two different author versions ... should be parsed as (Two different (author versions) ...) not (Two (different author) versions ...) I.e., Michael is talking about two different versions from the author, not two versions from different authors.

Shift Delete on Cygwin/Xemacs-21.1-p2 25 years, 4 months

Hi When I do C-h k and then Control Insert or Shift Insert I get: C-insert runs `copy-primary-selection' Sh-insert runs `yank-clipboard-selection' but C-h k and then pressing Shift Delete gives me: DEL runs `scroll-down' It seems that Sh-delete is not recognized on my system. Any hint ? System: WinNT 4.0/SP3 Cygwin B20.1 with egcs-1.1.2 - cygwin1.dll - cygwin1-19990610.dll.gz - everything mounted binary, - CYGWIN = tty title binmode ntea nontsec Software: Xemacs-21.1.2 - http://www.xemacs.org/ Ciao Volker

Subwindows are cool! 25 years, 4 months

I just played a bit with the subwindow support. I had one of the Tk 8.0 demos displaying inside an XEmacs buffer. very nice. Thanks andy! Unfortunately when thing were brought through their obvious conclusion and I tried displaying an XEmacs frame inside a subwindow the external widget XEmacs crashed :-( Jan
