You should not have to define a face to have XEmacs come up correctly. The _only_ thing I have in my personal Xresources is Emacs.Foreground: black emacs.Background: white Emacs.default.attributeBackground: white Emacs.modeline.attributeBackground: Gray75 Emacs*XlwScrollBar*knobStyle: dimple Emacs*XlwScrollBar*ShadowThickness: 1 And is all I have had in there for the past god knows how many years. And all of a sudden my toolbar buttons got hosed. We should _not_ be relying on something like the default background color to be the same as the toolbar color. Why exactly couldn't the color be set under windows? -Bill P.

Sounds correct to me, but changing toolbar face via custom does not do the trick. The picture is outdated (it was taken back in '91 when I was 16), but all the sitting in front of the computer and less-than-sufficient workout did gain me a few pounds... Setting it via customize-face does NOT work. This looks like some bug to me, cause it should be changeable via customize, should'nt it? Regards, Oliver.

I'm not sure what change could have caused this - I haven't looked into it much. I never use the toolbars, and the only reason I noticed is xrdb coredumped on me so only part of my resources go read in and topToolbarHeight wasn't 0. :) -Bill P.

Xkb-Extensions and XEmacs 26 years, 5 months

Hi there ! In german linux groups people quite often report problems with using Xkb-Extensions of Xfree86 and XEmacs[1]. For me, this is not a real problem, since I don't use the extensions. But if there is a solution, I would like to know about it (in order to forward it to the FAQ-maintainer of the german linux groups. And hey, why isn't it in the XEmacs FAQ ?) Could somebody (please just one) point me at it ? If there is no (easy) solution, why is this so (read: do I have to download the mailing-list archive) ? Holger [1] Most of the problems seem to have to do with the handling of dead keys.
