Try finding out why configure does not do so and your problem is probably solved. Golden rule of configure: Never --with-anything=yes that is on by default. Forcing it just hides the problem and causes other problems to appear. Jan

Sorry about that. package-compile.el is out of date because I forgot to commit it. :-( Please `cvs update' the following files: ChangeLog XEmacs.rules package-compile.el comm/Makefile and install the elib source package found in ftp://altair.xemacs.org/outgoing/ if the elib sources haven't yet been added to the CVS tree. (all of the new packages source tarballs I sent Jareth are there).

Problem building mule/skk package 26 years, 2 months

I've made a cvs up in xemacs-packages and tried to rebuild everything with a mule enabled XEmacs. Rebuilding skk failed with the following error message: aj＠arthur: 19:41:59 /mnt/xemacs/cvs-sources/xemacs-packages/mule/skk $ /mnt/xemacs/build-20.5/src/xemacs -no-autoloads -debug -batch -l ../../package-compile.el -- viper mule-base elib xemacs-base -- skk-foreword.el Loading /mnt/xemacs/build-20.5/lisp/auto-autoloads... Loading /mnt/xemacs/cvs-sources/xemacs-packages/libs/xemacs-base/auto-autoloads... Wrong type argument: stringp, nil xemacs exiting. I don't have a clue how to debug this.:-( Has anybody some ideas? [Announcement] XEmacs bug tracking 26 years, 2 months

[since several people seem to have forced my hand... <grin>] Announcing the preliminary XEmacs bug tracking system. In an attempt to start to manage the flood of messages relating to bugs in XEmacs, we have deployed a Jitterbug server at http://cvs.xemacs.org/XEmacs-bugs. Please take a look if you're interested. I am intending to (when I get the time) adapt the Postgres bug-tracking system I use here at my office and at some point replace Jitterbug with that, but as our system has no e-mail capability, it'll take quite a bit of tweaking. Anthony is currently rewriting emacsbugs.el to fill out an email form properly for submission to Jitterbug, and hopes to have that done shortly. If any of you are interested in assisting Anthony, Steve and I in dealing with the avalance of bugs that will flow through the system, please contact me to get a username and password for the system.
