Follow-up on crashes

This bug report will be sent to the XEmacs Development Team, not to your local site managers!! Following Stephen's suggestion I compiled with '--with-sound=noesd,native'; same problems: 1. the font in the time-mail display in the modeline is still messed up (in distinction from the no-gtk version to which I am returning). 2. Sounds still don't work in this version (only beeps from the buil-in speaker on errors). Neither does copy-paste with the mouse alone work yet. 3. The Dired button in the Gtk-toolbar gives a 'wrong type argument stringp nil' message. 4. The Print button gives a 'sequencep -?' error. and finally:. 5. The News button crashes xemacs. I switched to the virtual console and could see some of the X-messages .
