XEmacs v21.4.1 hung with fatal i/o error

I got this after running XEmacs for couple of days. xemacs-21.4.1: Fatal I/O Error 0 (Error 0) on display connection ":0.0" after 1861692 requests (1861691 known processed) with 4 events remaining.
