Most generated files are ignored by the VCS, but these are special. configure and depends are supposed to be committed when you make a change, but it is the committer's responsibility to run autoconf and make depends, and a patch proposal should not include such changes. I'm not sure about the VCS status of custom-loads and auto-autoloads in 21.4, but these files are generated by the build process, and therefore changes to those files should not be included in the patch.
