xemacs segmentation fault on my new iMac

I think this is an X bug, at least in the documentation (they never document restrictions on function arguments). I've been through the related code in lwlib many times, but I've never been able to find a problem in it. Probably we'll just end up removing the code; you'll have to use GTK or something that provides its own progress gauge if you care about that kind of eye candy.
