That's the way I did it, too.
I checked that oslevel returns 5100-3, the latest maintenance
package. I
have added fixes from the IBM site regularly using the "new this month"
feature. VIsual Age C is at the latest level (6.0.0.1)
llpchk -v does not return anything. The compilations goes as before,
with the same messages about _ALL_SOURCE.... and xemacs still crashes
with the same problem I reported. It works if one is not in X11 mode
though. I have to say the last time I udpated in december (no fixes
appeared in January that concern the system) mozilla 1.2.1 (binary
downloaded from mozzila.org) which worked fine before core dump as well.
I never had this kind of problem with AIX before (at least not since I
started using 4.1...)

I may just have missed a few fixes. The IBM web site lacks a
"check my
system and download all the latest fixes which are good for it"
function....
You can download a list of latest available filesets from the "Fix
Delivery Center for AIX" site at
http://techsupport.services.ibm.com/server/aix.fdc (follow the "Fix
release information" link). Then use the "compare_report" command to
check your system against this list and you should see if something is
missing.
Regarding your other two postings: Yes, I did use GNU make. And the
problem with keymap.c sounds also familiar to me. Valdis Kletnieks
recommended to add "-U__STR__" to your CFLAGS to get rid of this error.
