how to return to same location in a file

Hi, I just realized that xemacs has this function like vim. I want to return to same location where I leave editing a file. I know that "save place" option in Options->advanced->Emacs->Data->Save Place can automatically save the location when I quit editing the file, however I have to use "xemacs file" to return to the same location. I use gnuserv all the time, and "gnuclient file" doesn't take me back to the same location. Is there any other method to achieve that, or I have to setup more options.
