It works fine now! Pressing ' now results in ' and does not crash
XEmacs any more.
Oh, BTW, if you are using CVS or patching up, keep the original
around because the patch I intend to apply will be more complicated,
and you'll either get a failed patch or a file which is not in synch
with the repository.
I'm using version 21.2.46 and Greg Parker's patch to make XEmacs recognize
a Darwin environment which I found at
http://www.stanford.edu/~parker42/xemacs.html
