Why does this patch work?
In fact, I am sad to report, it does not work. At least not when
tested against the TAGS file as produced by "make TAGS" in the
glibc-2.2.5 source directory. I'm afriad that a proper fix for this
will require changing more than one line of code (if it had been that
easy I would have done it already!)
