Thanks: this fixes the crash I was having w/ (turn-on-font-lock) in the
latest CVS XEmacs under cygwin.
BTW I'm not seeing any problem with bringing up the search dialogue.
Curious, I was seeing a crash in redisplay. It may be timing related I suppose.
