Wrong. It's not defined in any XEmacs without EFS installed (like
mine on Linux, for example). This shouldn't be an error.
ediff doesn't use this var directly (and it doesn't require dired or efs).

I don't know about this one.
Ediff menus are defined in ediff-hook.el
It should be autoloaded.
