XEmacs cannot find site-packages??

Greetings. I tried to build xemacs 21.0-b57 from source (tarball) on a solaris 2.6 with these commands: export USR_LOCAL_PREFIX=/opt/local_dev/ cd xemacs-21.0-b57 make distclean ./configure \ --site-includes=${USR_LOCAL_PREFIX}/include \ --site-libraries=${USR_LOCAL_PREFIX}/lib \ --dynamic \ --prefix=${USR_LOCAL_PREFIX} \ --with-xpm \ --with-tooltalk=no \ --with-xface || exit 2 make install sitelispdir=${USR_LOCAL_PREFIX}/lib/xemacs/site-packages || exit 2 The problem is that xemacs will not find anything I put in site-packages. The INSTALL clearly states that sitelispdir is the arg to put on the make command to get this to happen. I originally build it w/o the sitelispdir arg and got the same behaviour.
