Hi,
I'm trying to get smtpmail and starttls to work in windows native 21.4.19,
the problem I'm having is that starttls-negotiate-gnutls is trying to send
SIGALRM to the gnutls-cli subprocess, and of course this is windows, so we
only support (from process-nt.c):

I've just installed lastet XEmacs 21.5 (the CVS date in the
Installation file attached doesn't reflect this, though) and updated
to latest CVS packages on MacOSX 10.5.1. Now, my gnus configuration
causes trouble.
My gnus.el file contains `(require 'pgg)'. This fails with "Symbol's
value as variable is void: pgg-parse-crc24". The new build seems to
have problems with CCL, since the definition of `pgg-parse-crc24' in
pgg-parse.el is wrapped with "(when (fboundp 'define-ccl-program)
...".
Strangely, `(fboundp 'define-ccl-program)' evaluates to `t' in my
*scratch* buffer, but it does not seem to do this when pgg-parse.el is
loaded from my gnus.el.
It works when I put
(load-file "/SOME/PATH/xemacs-packages/lisp/pgg/pgg-parse.el")
in my gnus.el. How can I avoid this kludge and fix this for real?

[Bug: 21.5-b28] dired decode setting get confused after gnus run

Dear Bug Team!
I find that dired buffer decode setting will get confused whenever I
finished reading news with gnus.
Step to reproduce this bug:
1. open a dired buffer on directory contains some file with Chinese in
their filename.
=> Chinese characters get properly displayed (chinese-gb2312) in the dired buffer
2. kill the buffer, and run gnus by running `M-x gnus <RET>'
3. quit gnus by typing `q'
4. re-open dired on the same direcotry (with those chinese-files)
=> Chinese characters get garbled (displayed in latin-iso8859-1)
Maybe you can also reproduce this by using some file with
japanese/korean characters in their filename.

Occasionally, I have problems changing to a directory via 'C-x d', when
within a dired buffer.
Only error message is 'buffer-read-only...', see following stack trace.
When I kill all dired buffers
and retry, it works again.

I just did a "cvs commit" on three files and got the
following error message

I say WTF?!
When I do:
LANG=sv_SE.UTF-8 LC_CTYPE=sv_SE.UTF-8 xemacs-21.5-b28 -vanilla &
I get an XEmacs frame with Swedish menus and Swedish (UTF-8) as the language
environment. When I do M-x gnus RET, open news.individual.net , give my
username and password, and go into a group, I have a *Summary ...* buffer
and an *Article*. In the *Summary* buffer, with a German keyboard layout
(where ä and ö have keys to themselves), I press C-h k ä and C-h k ö and I’m
told that both are bound to #'self-insert-command. When I search for ä or ö,
it works just as with the ASCII characters.
With the ie keyboard layout, where X11 compose processing is needed to
produce those characters, in the *Summary ...* buffer, I press C-h k AltGr-8
a and C-h k AltGr-8 o, and I’m told that U00E4 and U00F6, respectively, are
bound to #'self-insert-command. Searching works identically well.
If I search in an X11 frame belonging to an XEmacs which was started up on a
TTY, and thus apparently doesn’t have all the X locale stuff quite right
(though the language environment is German (UTF-8); seems we have a bug), I
do get the error that adiaeresis and odiaeresis are undefined. This is
apparently because the code in x-compose.el gets involved, since XEmacs sees

non-ASCII characters that don’t involve x-compose.el, like … or «, I don’t
have trouble.
Do any differences here stand out to you? Is your X11 installation
particularly odd?

Soon. This is a first draught, with the bug that temp-buffer-show-hook is
normally ignored in both 21.4 and 21.5; it seems to be necessary to set a
new value for temp-buffer-show-function, probably with the contents ofs
#'show-temp-buffer-in-current-frame included.
