It’s a trivial file, and I don’t think it merits an entire package to
itself, but there’s no real “miscellaneous-Mule” package it to put it
in. If I don’t get a suggestion I will make a separate package for it, but I
feel pretty strongly that wouldn’t be ideal.

xemacs crashes when gnuclient fails to attach

When I ssh into my office computer and attach to a running xemacs
using the gnuclient program, but the attempt fails because of a
Kerberos authentication problem, xemacs crashes.
Here is the error message from gnuclient:
"X11 connection rejected because of wrong authentication."

5.10 summary menubar broken on XEmacs

Hi Folks!
The menubar in the summary buffer is broken on XEmacs[1] with Gnus
5.10.7. Trying to access any menu in the summary buffer with a mouse
gives:
"Unrecognized menu descriptor", t
And for some reason, I can't produce a useful backtrace so I'm kinda
stuck with trying to debug this.
Can anyone shed any light?
Other menubars seem to be unaffected... group buffer, server buffer,
message buffer all are fine.
Footnotes:
[1] SXEmacs 22.1.2, XEmacs 21.4, and XEmacs 21.5 are affected.
Apparently XEmacs 21.5 is worst as it is dumping core with this.
SXEmacs and XEmacs 21.4 just give the error.

Bill, you should not get these warnings when you start a new XEmacs.
The running XEmacs used for package upgrade already had these packages
loaded, causing these warnings.
I always see them when I install new package releases.
Please report if/whether a newly started XEmacs shows this behavior.

initialization logic of variable

Hi,
I'm using xemacs-21.5b20 from CVS, native win32. I'm using gnus and
spambayes. I was wondering why from time to time, some messages got
truncated. I have traced the problem up to call-process-internal. I have
got one such message where the truncation appears and saved it in some
foo.txt file.
I used the following function to test spambayes filter against this
message:

It is called the same way as gnus is calling it. If I run this code
straight, truncation occurs. If I edebug-defun the call-process-internal
function and run the same code, stepping by hand into
call-process-internal, no truncation occurs.
Anybody has an idea of the problem? It does not occur very often, but it
is a bit scary when you think about it.

Hi!
This [1] has been reported sooo many times the last six months or so. Could
someone with the proper knowledge *please* take a look at this? It is very
easily reproducable, seems to happen on all versions after 21.4.12 and also
on the 21.5 branch.
XEmacs becomes more or less useless for Java editing because of this
annoying bug.
Thanks for taking the time to make this otherwise killer app better!

On 21.4.15, Mule, with -vanilla:
If (default-directory) contains any non-ASCII characters, M-! runs the
command with the cwd set to XEmacs' initial cwd.
Playing around with various coding-system variables doesn't seem to
affect anything.
Any ideas?

Hi,
I'm having some irritating problem right now with both
21.4 and 21.5 together with gnus. With 21.4, while in the
summary-window, when I select a menu I get an: 'Syntax error:
"Unrecognized menu descriptor", t'. Doing the same thing in 21.5
produces a core dump.
(Haven't seen any reports about the gnus problem lately which makes me
suspicious: Have I got a bad environment!? Is anybody else getting
this error?)
