In my particular case, if XEmacs did a wait*() to cleanup the child, it wouldn't matter anyway. latest 21.5 fails to compile, maybe 21 years, 10 months

The current 21.5 from CVS fails to build for me with undefined references for some extent related inline functions. The last time this kind of failure happened to me it was because cvs wouldn't pull down some change for reasons unknown to me. I suspect that it's happening again. (insert (emacs-version)) XEmacs 21.5 (beta6) "bok choi" [Lucid] (i586-pc-linux) of Wed Jun 26 2002 on boffi95 months ago i customized buffer-tabs face to :family "trebuchet ms" and all was well until i synched my sources with the latest cvs now, both on debian woody at work, and on mdk82 at home, i experience the same problems: 1. buffer tabs are shown in default face! i can change fg&bg of the tabs, but not the family or the size of the face... 2. i tried to change the default face, just to see if this involved also the buffer tabs... so i used the menubar "Options>Font>Verdana" resulting in a change in the buffer tabs ONLY, and not in the default face... moreover, trying again to change the default face resulted eventually in a crash, don't remember if at home or at work...

Bugs in 21.5 und MS Windows 21 years, 10 months

Hey all My system: XEmacs 21.5.6, updated from CVS some minutes ago, compiled with Mule and all external packages, native Windows, MS Visual C++ 6, running under Windows XP, all bugs tested with "xemacs -vanilla". Here are some bugs: Selecting rectangles with the mouse via M - button1 doesn't work. The meta key is ignored, XEmacs behaves as if I didn't hold it. Under 21.4.6 it works as suggested. It is impossible to display characters which are part of Unicode, but of no other coding-system known to XEmacs. Instead of the character a bold = is drawn. Testcase: Open http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~mgk25/ucs/examples/UTF-8-demo.txt in XEmacs and Notepad (on modern Windows) and change font to one which includes unicode quite well, e.g. Arial Unicode MS from http://download.microsoft.com/download/publisher2000/Aruniup/2000/WIN98/E... You'll see that Notepad displays everything, while XEmacs fails on many characters, especially in the "Mathematics and Sciences:" Section. FSF Emacs 21.2 running under the same environment doesn't have any problems, too. Then there still are the problems, already described: It's impossible to choose any input-method other than the default one and (prefer-coding-system 'arg) doesn't work, if arg is a windows charset or a unicode encoding scheme like utf-8. P.S. I know that this is probably work for Ben and that he's on vacation, but I just wanted to write it down to prevent me from forgetting it and maybe there's somewhere out there, who can fix the one ore the other issue. bug? `define-derived-mode' doesn't set `derived-mode-parent' property 21 years, 10 months

In XEmacs 21.5 `define-derived-mode' doesn't set the mode's `derived-mode-parent' property. So `derived-mode-class' will lose. Is this deliberate? -- John Paul Wallington

[21.4 PATCH] Fix toolbar redisplay with gutter 21 years, 10 months
