Buffer tabs get out of sync on compilation 22 years, 1 month

Please also include any C or lisp back-traces that you may have. ================================================================ Dear Bug Team! when I save my changes in some source code buffer and want to compile the changed file, I run the 'compile' command (which I have set up on single-key shortcut, without interaction [1]). It works fine - the frame is split into 2 windows, the bottom one shows the make output while the source stays visible in the top window (which also keeps the cursor) - *except* the line of tabs on the top of the frame (very nice - makes XEmacs look a bit like JBuilder :-) ) changes from the list of source file names to a single *compilation* tab (or *compilation* and *grep* tabs, when I also have the *grep* buffer). It's as if the focus changed to the *compilation* buffer - which it probably did, temporarily, but the change is clearly supposed to be invisible, and IMHO it should be invisible: the state of the tab bar should reflect the selected window, right? I attempted to update packages (tools/packages/update installed packages) yesterday, and every internet site I tried came back "ftp.blah... does not appear to be a pty". Today when I launch xemacs (Academic Rigor release on Win2k), I get a console window listing one package after another with the message "Loading c:\Program Files\XEmacs\xemacs-packages\lisp\zenirc\auto-autoloads...done (file auto-autoloads.el is newer)" (for each package I have installed), then the regular xemacs window appears. What gives? Hi, I've been trying to use subj. (installed the net-utils package last week to get it), but it just says Cannot open load file: sendmail In case it matters, I have a mail server configured on my machine (SuSE Linux) but it isn't sendmail - it's qmail. Crash on (format-time-string "%s" '(-1 0 0)) on Windows 22 years, 2 months

Happens in both xemacs-21.4 and latest XEmacs beta on Windows. The problem is that list_to_time allows negative integers at the head of the time list. Hence a negative time is returned. In the case localtime on Windows returns NULL. The code does not check for it. The patch below fixes the problem. It was tested on Windows 2000. Nick.

21.5.5 toolbar looks different 22 years, 2 months

I just compiled up 21.5.5 on Solaris with gcc 3.0. Everything runs ok, and the only thing I've noticed is that the toolbar looks different. In everything before 21.5.5, the toolbar had a gray area that stretched from the last toolbar all the way to the right edge of the frame. Now there's nothing. The last toolbar just ends and it actually looks like the buffer is there, but, of course, it's not. Is this supposed to be like that? If so, can I have the old look back? I think this needs to be removed. Take the reference to managing packages via Customize out of the TeXinfo and remove the appropriate defcustoms. The less number of ways people have for managing packages the better (IMO). We can already do it: - Manually via FTP/tar individual packages - Manually via FTP/tar Sumo packages - Automagically via XEmacs Package Tools (mouse - menu choices) - Automagically via XEmacs Package Tools (keyboard - M-x commands) The Customize way seems to be broke. I don't think it would be worth the trouble to fix it, so let's take it out completely.
