Warning sound maybe broken in CVS (HP expert needed) 24 years

I just committed a change to the sound code but have only tested it on linux. sgi, sun, and nt sound are untested but should work. hpplay.c needs to be fixed by somebody with access to HP-UX. Jan

I still don't understand this. I have had my packages in the source tree for ages and that works (the only that doesn't is that the srcdir builds does not make the proper links yet like it does for lisp and etc). Jan

Progress gauge bug 24 years

I've found a way to repeat a bug that has annoyed me with progress gauges for some time. Here's how: Make sure font-lock is turned on. Visit a large file, e.g. a ChangeLog. Then type `C-x i ChangeLog RET', i.e. insert the ChangeLog contents into itself. After this, font-lock and progress gauge seem to lock into an endless loop. If you use C-g to break out of the loop, font-lock-pre-idle-hook reports an error. This is all 100% repeatable, with -vanilla, under X (Athena) and Linux.

FYI: Yes, CVS on WinNT exists. Yes, I do checkout xemacs-packages on WinNT. Yes, I was able to build xemacs-packages on WinNT in the past. Adrian

error-checking=none working? 24 years

configure acknowledges that I have error-checking=none set but also flashes me the warning that run-time error checking is enabled and will make me very slow.
