NewbieQ: How to add packages 24 years, 7 months

I can't figure out how to add packages. I successfully downloaded and built the basic XEmacs 21.2 from the CVS repository. When I goto tools>packages>update package index it beeps at me and says "Symbol's value as variable is void: allow-remote-paths". I also downloaded the entire package tree from the CVS, but can't figure out how to use it. Can someone help, please. TIA, Steve

Problems with widgets in 21.1.12 and 21.2-b36 vanilla 24 years, 7 months

Am working on my XEmacs-21.2-beta deb packaging system opus again... 24 years, 7 months

In case anyone out there actually grabbed a copy from my CVS last time I mentioned it, and started working on it at all, "heads up". I'm back at work on it, for the first time in a year. I hope to "finish" it sometime soonish; hopefully in time for the next XEmacs release, whenever that is. We'll see... no promises. CVS is available to the curious and brave. It's an opus; and very complex to some peoples eye. No doubt about it. There's a lot of work left to be done. At some point, someone ought to evaluate it to see if it can be easily modified to generate *.rpm packages also. It is fairly modular and might be easy to adapt; I'll roll that in if someone works on that. Give me some time to get it to at least build and stage XEmacs first though.

Dialog box buttons? 24 years, 7 months

I thought this was fixed a while ago, but perhaps I'm mistaken. Anyway all the buttons on my dialog boxes look like %_Yes, %_No, etc. This is Solaris 2.7 with Motif widgets. Thanks, Ray
