I've been quite busy with a variety of tasks for the past month or so. I had hoped to have released 21.1.9 by now, but I just haven't been able to find the time. I will start plowing through my list of saved patches and applying them next week, but I'm leaving next Friday for a 10-day vacation, so 21.1.9 will be delayed until the first week in February. - vin

Yes, it was very recent. The incorrect unexec was always there, but it used to fortuitously work. I noticed that one of the patches is to `configure.in', which will mean that if you just apply the patch, you will not get the change that you need, which is to `configure'. Make sure that you are linking in unexelfsgi.o, and not unexelf.o. -- Colin

zero size widget crashes continue 24 years, 5 months

This is not critical to me, since I kept a working copy of an older 21.2 beta to actually use ... but I haven't been able to use a current CVS beta for at least a month because, in gnus, they crash after no more than ten minutes with errors like these: xemacs: X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation) Major opcode of failed request: 12 (X_ConfigureWindow) Value in failed request: 0x0 Serial number of failed request: 79626 Current serial number in output stream: 79659 Error: Widget *Article* has zero width and/or height -- Michael D. Tabs, the gutter, `window-height', scrolling. (Was: Re: OK I give up) 24 years, 5 months

I imagine this must have been noticed by others, and is likely on someone's ToDo list anyway, but it can't hurt to point it out if I keep it brief... With the tabs displayed, when I push the page-down key, it doesn't put the line that was at the bottom on the top line like it used to. That line is off the top of the window now. I looked at `window-height', and see that it accounts for the modeline and possible scrollbar, but it does not (yet) account for the tab gutter, and needs to. I am not capable at this time of making that patch, or I would. I just plain don't understand things well enough yet to monkey with it.

Long absence/near inactivity 24 years, 5 months

Having just survived one of the heaviest cases of the flu I have ever had I am now on a program to finally get my thesis finished by the end of the wintersemester. Any of my free time will be devoted to the "find Job in UK" subtask[1]. This means that any postings from me in the next months will be rare, just as now. I am still trying to do the "tracking" part of the patch tracker job. My XEmacs review buffer currently has "79" ticked messages (mostly unapplied patches). 39 of those are by Yoshiki Hayashi (wow!). I haven't checked whether Yoshiki hasn't committed them or is simply not sending "applied" messages to xemacs-review.[2] IMO the most important unapplied patch is Max Matveev improved version of the IRIX dumping from "unexelf on irix (kinda digest)".
