JOBS list for XEmacs 24 years, 6 months

Ben and I have come up with a tentative list of XEmacs `jobs', or areas of responsibility. The idea here is that the people listed as `Primary' are responsible for any problems in this area. However, in the event that all of the listed Primaries disapppear and become unresponsive to email, the Secondary agrees to step up and take over, at least temporarily. Please suggest changes and additions to this list. It will be wonderful if people would volunteer for unfilled positions. index.texi and CVS updates 24 years, 6 months

There is a change I just committed to CVS that will not quite work with `cvs update'. The file index.texi used to be a generated symlink, but now it's a regular file in CVS. So do rm man/*/index.texi before cvs update (although things should work anyways if you omit this; however, CVS will continue to issue scary messages until you remove the index.texi files and re-run `cvs update'. We actually have had a split tarball system for the binaries for ages and I have seen relatively few complaints about that. The only real conceptual difference was that the binaries complained loudly if they couldn't bind the stuff from xemacs-common. Jan

C-g cancels the incremental search, which means that it backs up the point to where it was, and forgets the old search string. The change happened because I merged isearch-mode.el with FSF Emacs. I was careful not to destroy useful XEmacs features in the process, but I think this behaviour is acceptable. > I notice that isearch-quit (bound by default to (ugh!) I have no idea how to trace the SIGIOs back to the device(s) that generated them. I wonder, in the function `stop_interrupts', instead of calling unrequest_sigio which disables SIGIO on each device one by one, wouldn't it be faster and safer to simply disable SIGIO as a whole with a call to EMACS_BLOCK_SIGNAL (SIGIO) ?
