[Bug] XEmacs-21.0-b47/pre4; Popup menu at buttom/right 26 years, 2 months

Didn't see anything related in the pre5 announcement... My popup menu appears at the buttom/right of my screen (window manager ctwm-3.5). True, it has different and wrong semantics. It is not obsolete in the sense that we have no plans on removing it in the future (unless it disappears from FSF Emacs).

The question stands: There is already a flag based on whether Motif is needed. Why can't the configure dependency on /usr/dt be based on whether either Motif or CDE are either autodetected or requested? Or else, why the hell does configure peek into /usr/contrib/... and fuck itself up with /usr/dt when sufficient configure options are given to make it clear that CDE/Motif are *not* wanted? Inquiring minds want to know.

site-lisp NEWS 26 years, 2 months

The NEWS file says site-lisp is now deprecated, as we all know. However, the NEWS file should say what to do instead of site-lisp. I know this was briefly discussed a while back, but my local mail archive doesn't go back that far, so I don't remember what the solution was. (I have --with-site-lisp.) Ray

Larry, I haven't heard of such problems. compose-mail is used to create a mail composition buffer, installation and make output files are inserted, lines are deleted with delete-matching-lines and delete-non-matching-lines and that's it. All I can think of are hooks that you run when you send off the build report. A test case would be appreciated (e.g. Installation and make.err files which make the problem show up). gnuclient bugs? in 21.0-b48 26 years, 2 months

System: Solaris 2.5.1, X11R6, gcc 2.7.2.x. I tried using gnuclient for the first time since b46 or so. It doesn't seem to work anymore. I start "xemacs -vanilla", "M-x gnuserv-start". Then "gnuclient /tmp/junk". This works fine. Start up a new xemacs and gnuserv-start. Now, if I try "gnuclient". It pops up a new frame with the current buffer in it. C-X #, of course, doesn't work because the buffer is a server buffer. Should gnuclient create a new server buffer in this case? Start another xemacs and gnuserv-start. Then try "gnuclient -nw /tmp/junk". gnuclient hangs, and so does that xemacs. No response to any key stroke. I kill gnuclient and xemacs is still hung. I've removed a lot of the noise (hopefully), and added stuff on Common Lisp from the recent posts on xemacs-beta. My aim is, at this point in time, to include information which is as factual as possible. I'd appreciate if people like Stephen, Hrvoje and Reggie could look it over and tell me what I've missed and what they disagree with.
