I spent several seconds in confusion when I did a checkout from the new cvs.xemacs.org and found nothing had changed in over a month! :) -- `The situation is completely under control. folding.el vs isearch vs XEmacs 21.2+ 24 years

There is a known bug with folding.el not entering folds when doing isearch on later version of XEmacs. I investigated the problem and it was triggered by the following change in XEmacs (isearch-mode.hack.el is a pached version of current XEmacs ispell with a portion replaced with code from XEmacs 21.1 ispell-mode.el). XEmacs switched to using overriding-local-map (presumable to sync with FSF). Here's a proposed patch. Note the comment, I tried to come up with a cleaner solution, but could not make it work. Any idea how to make this work cleanly? Otherwise, I think, this should be applied as is, since it improves functionality. Gleb

[PATCH 21.4] get-popup-menu-response 24 years

[APPROVE COMMIT 21.4-windows] So it turns out the reason this didn't work is that mswindows can't really honor popup-up-p in a way that is usuable in functions like this. However, not setting popup-up-p is also bad for dialogs, so this patch should also fix the problem with multiple dialogs appearing at the same time. This is the last showstopper for 21.4.6 windows so I expect to put out the release soon (the other showstopper was actually a cygwin bug). faces.el redundancy... 24 years

So, does anybody have a good reason why faces.el does things like this: (set-face-background 'highlight '(((x default color) . "darkseagreen2") ((x default color) . "green") ((x default grayscale) . "green") ((mswindows default grayscale) . "gray53")) 'global) Instead of the (in my opinion) saner way: (set-face-background 'highlight '(((win default color) . "darkseagreen2") ((win default color) . "green") ((win default grayscale) . "gray53")) 'global) modeline.el and most other places that set face-(fore|back)ground do it this way. And it would catch any new window systems automatically instead of what I've been doing this morning which is adding duplicate statements for 'gtk' all over the place. I'm going to try and hunt down some of the bugs on XEmacs/GTK this week. ftp mirror at sunsite.org.uk out-of-date 24 years

The mirror at sunsite.org.uk (Imperial College, London) is seriously out of date. I emailed the maintainers and they told me that they had to "freeze" their whole site because they ran out of disc space. They are currently working on upgrading their hardware. I'd suggest we remove sunsite.org.uk from our list of mirrors. I can remove it from xemacsweb/Download/index.content but it is also listed in xemacsweb/Download/mirrors.lst and I don't really know what that file is for. maybe the windows netinstaller?? Gunnar

TUTORIAL.se soon ready but what about the Copyright? 24 years

Hi, We are soon, I hope ;-), ready with the Swedish translation of the TUTORIAL but I have one question about the copyright. The copyright for the English version is FSF but for the other translations, that I have seen, the copyright holder is either a person or both the FSF and a person. No translation has only the FSF as copyright holder. How should it be? Can I just write that the copyright holder is FSF or should I include myself as a copyright holder as well? Are there any legal problems with that? Should there be papers signed etc. And what about the people that has helped me with suggestions, proofreading etc? Yours -- %% Mats
