How are you sucking in the messages? If you want to have raw data, you
need to use the 'binary coding system... This should work exactly the
same as in FSF Emacs[1].
If you are using insert-file-contents-literally then you need to be
aware that is currently broken under XEmacs (as it was in FSF 20.3).
My …
[View More]patch for fixing has not made it into a released version yet.
However I though gnus already used its own version of
insert-file-contents-literally?

Footnotes:
[1] Apart from the fact that under XEmacs no-conversion an alias for
raw-text, so you _need_ to use binary.

Oh Yes. Yippee!... Sinterklaas has come early year.[1]

Let's get you working before you are cured... !
Checklist
[0] Unless Christian pitches in now or comes back later you can
consider yourself the FAQ maintianer.
[1] It might be a good idea to contact webmaster(a)xemacs.org to arrange
something so that …
[View More]the Web version can be updated regularly again.
[2] Jason, can you arrange for her to be put on the FAQ alias at
xemacs.org
Jan
P.S. Do you think it is better to wait with the URL thing when you are
going to do a complete review?
Footnotes:
[1] You need to be Dutch to get that one I am afraid.

But it only needs to be done once. Anyway 30MB is doable. That means
it is only diskspace that is the problem which means that CVSup is a
real option if only we had a server :-).

I wouldn't bet on it. There are …
[View More]people that cope with compiler bugs
just fine, but can't stand various brain-damages inflicted by
`configure'.

I've applied it now to the CVS archive.

Oh, dear. It interprets the rest of the mailbox as being in the wrong
coding system, which will break all kinds of things.
I just don't know how …
[View More]to switch those things completely off in
XEmacs, so I'm Cc-ing this to the xemacs-beta mailing list. Help?

After cleaning up load-path troubles:

Yes, …

Not finding any evidence of this after installing the hm--html
packages from most recent sumo. (thats on ftp.xemacs.org)
M-x hm-html<space> no soap
no help at C-h v hm--html<space>
no help at M-x apropos hm-html-send-buffer <RET>
All this with html-mode loaded.
What might be going on here?

Thanks.. For the same reason. How big would a bzip2 compressed tarball
be.

Most that size is probably for files that have been moved to the
…
[View More]packages, isn't it? Apart from that the sizes are actually quite reasonable.

Its a …
[View More]rare occasion to have to argue with you Robin, but on my 21.2.19
the only likely looking suspect on the menus is HTML/View in
[netscape w3 etc] which produces:
Loading w3...
Invalid byte code: "variable reference to constant symbol :group"
I thought I'd gotten that error originally from trying to loadd an fsf
compiled w3 but have since used xemacs nifty package tools to get the
latest and greatest of everything. Somehow that "other" w3 path is
creeping in there, plainly visible with C-h v load-path <RET>.
Working on that now.
PS the hm-html package is not in evidence on
ftp.xemacs.org:/pub/xemacs/packages or at least the package tools
didn't find it there. I do have it in the "sumo" download though so
will try that one.
