`pop-to-buffer' (?) gets confused by multiple consoles

I assume you're on a window system and have gnuserv configured. Now,
try this:
$ xemacs -vanilla &
Then "ESC ! echo 'TASTES GREAT!' RET" in the XEmacs window. Back to
your terminal, and
$ xemacs -nw
and "ESC ! echo 'LESS FILLING!' RET" in the terminal window.
I expect you'll see the new string in the GUI window (only), not in the
terminal. This is pretty disconcerting when you're working remotely.
`pop-to-buffer' is a guess. Whatever shell-command is using to
pop up its results should restrict its search for an existing window
displaying the *Shell Command Output* buffer to the console where the
command was typed, IMO.
Is there a reason why this isn't so?

string-to-int sometimes returns unsightly values which makes
writing elisp functions that operate on tables of numbers
very complicated if you want them to remain easy on the eyes.
I'm not sure where the problem is: xemacs, os, compiler, cpu???

Windows Native Setup Kit for XEmacs-21.5-b26

ftp.xemacs.org has a new windows native setup kit for XEmacs 21.5!
The kit is available from
ftp://ftp.xemacs.org/pub/xemacs/windows/testing/XEmacs_Setup_21.5-b26.exe
This kit is a test version based on a snapshot of the XEmacs 21.5
source tree as it currently exists in CVS. The snapshot is very
similar (perhaps identical) to the contents of the 21.5-b26
release. The kit includes a significant number of packages and allows
the user to choose among them at the time of installation. Also, this
setup kit warns the user if EMACSPACKAGEPATH is set in the Windows
registry (both the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and HKEY_CURRENT_USER
hierarchies are checked) and allows the user the option of deleting
EMACSPACKAGEPATH from the registry.

XEmacs 21.5-b26.
XEmacs-21.5 is software under development. Please do not use this

ftp.xemacs.org has a new windows native setup kit for XEmacs 21.4!
The kit is available from
ftp://ftp.xemacs.org/pub/xemacs/windows/testing/XEmacs_Setup_21.4.19-4.exe
This kit is a test version that includes more packages than were
available in the official 21.4.19 release kit and allows the user the
choice of which packages to install. Also, this setup kit warns the
user if EMACSPACKAGEPATH is set in the Windows registry (both the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and HKEY_CURRENT_USER hierarchies are checked) and
allows the user the option of deleting EMACSPACKAGEPATH. In addition,
there are a small number of patches which will eventually appear in
the XEmacs 21.4.20 release.

Built 21.4 for the first time in quite a while. There's something odd
going on with window geometry; the echo area seems several pixels too
tall in my current instance. This would hardly be noticable, except
that the whole area doesn't necessarily get cleared, leaving some
turds (presumably from before a resize or something like that). See
attached PNG.
