vc killed my work 23 years, 2 months

I'm sending this to -bete because it's *never* failed before. I said: ,---- | C-x C-q runs `vc-toggle-read-only' | | `vc-toggle-read-only' is an interactive compiled Lisp function | -- loaded from "vc-hooks" | (vc-toggle-read-only &optional VERBOSE) | `---- I got: % $Id: introduction.tex,v 1.1 2001/01/25 19:25:25 robin Exp $ Well, fine. I also got: ,---- | Preface | | This book wants to describe various ``indigenous'' grammatical traditions | across the globe in a culture-contrastive anthropological linguistic | perspective. It asks questions such as What did people in culture or `---- You guessed correctly. This used to be \chapter{Preface}... VC nuked the entire buffer and reverted it to the previous (Text converted from HTML) version. I feel slightly unnerved after 49h of hacking this thing. It's *ALL* gone. Nothing in the backups. I've just released the following updated packages: psgml - Updated to version 1.22 ediff - * ediff-diff.el (ediff-make-diff2-buffer): Removed bogus checks for remote files. Did I ever submit my "xg" script to you? 23 years, 2 months

I cannot recall whether I submitted my "xg" script to you. My coworkers and I think it ought to become part of the XEmacs distribution. (pending necessary modifications; let's get it in CVS if folks agree). It works well called from the Gnome or KDE panel. Here's a current copy, just in case. I guess it belongs in "lib-src". I hope you all enjoy the Zippy quote with the "-unmapped" arg. :-)

[Bug] Redisplay: Toolbar: blank spots. 23 years, 2 months

Version: XEmacs 21.2 (beta44) "Thalia" (linux) of Thu Feb 15 2001 on bittersweet CVS Updated as of last evening. How to reproduce: Use the Options, Display, Toolbars, Visible menu to turn off toolbars, then use it again to turn them back on. Where the menu was, the toolbar is redrawn, but off to the sides of that, it's not. Using another window as a wiper causes the toolbar to be drawn in.
