I had in mind a case where the top-level Makefile simply defaults XEMACS_PACKAGES = $(ALL_XEMACS_PACKAGES), and then users check out only those packages they want. Then the XEMACS_PACKAGES and MULE_PACKAGES variables would be used by people who want to subset the set of packages they have checked out. Eg, Steve Youngs as package honcho would have vc-cc checked out, but NOT in XEMACS_PACKAGES. It would be easy enough to generate informative warnings or errors (rather than subprocesses barfing for non-obvious reasons like [ -d $(*D) ] fails, which is a bug in your current code I suspect -- I know that until I introduced $(filter ...) I got make errors from that) under control of a make variable ON_PKG_VARS_MISMATCH_SUBDIR_CONTENTS which could take values like ERROR, WARN, IGNORE. [Q] Spurious entries in image-conversion-list ? 23 years, 5 months

Am I correct in believing that the last entry in each of these two calls to set-console-type-image-conversion-list (from glyphs.el) is useless ? Rectangular selection seems to be broken 23 years, 5 months

Hi, I loose a rectangular selection (with meta-button1) as soon as I release the mouse button. Does anybody experience the same problem? I am using XEmacs-21.2-b40 on Mandrake Linux-7.1. Thank you, Slava
