Steve Youngs, Here is the problem I'm having with building bbdb. As I noted earlier, the problem is actually in mew. Subtle toolbar repositioning bug 23 years, 4 months

With xemacs-21.2.42 on Linux i686 2.4.0 XFree86-4.0.2 Via menu: Options -> Display -> Default Toolbar Location -> Right Now toolbar is at the right sider. Ok. Via menu: Options -> Display -> Default Toolbar Location -> Top Now toolbar is back again at the top, BUT not some buttons are redrawn incorrectly. See the screenshot below. Strange `eval-buffer' bug 23 years, 4 months

Save the file, attached below, as, say, /tmp/test.el Then invoke xemacs: xemacs -q -vanilla /tmp/test.el -f eval-buffer In my case it always results in error message: Symbol's value as variable is void: БВГДЕЁЖЗИЙКЛМНОПРСТУФХЦЧШЩЬ This happens with 21.2.42 built both with an without MULE on linux and with 21.2.36 on Windows 2000. Building with pdump litters /usr/local/bin 23 years, 4 months

Today I build xemacs with pdumper for the first time. What impressed me greatly is relatively small size of executable: xemacs-21.2-b38 : 10353561 xemacs-21.2-b40 : 10360804 src/xemacs(w/o pdump) : 10363983 xemacs-21.2-b41 : 7278787 !!! All of them are configured with mule, error-checking and debug info enabled, but the latter is dumped by pdumper. What seems strange, is the origin of the following file: -rw-r--r-- 2643988 Jan 17 15:21 /usr/local/bin/xemacs-21.2-b41-3a68d0b7.dmp My system: Linux-2.4.0 i686 glibc-2.1.1 Nick.

PSGML package missing cdtd/* 23 years, 4 months

Steve, Someone on c.e.x. just pointed out that psgml-1.20-pkg.tar.gz is missing the contents of the .../etc/psgml/cdtd directory. I just checked psgml-1.21-pkg.tar.gz, and it is missing there as well. Are those files not being generated by the build process, or is the packager just not packaging them up? crash with xemacs-21.2-b41 23 years, 4 months

I just compiled xemacs-21.2-b41, and I'm running into problems. uname -a: OSF1 goedel3 V5.0 1094 alpha XEmacs 21.2-b41 "Polyhymnia" configured for `alphaev5-dec-osf5.0'. The configuration and make processes seem to work fine, but when I start it up, I get crashes almost immediately. For instance, if I do 'xemacs -q -vanilla', then hit 'C-x C-f RET', I get the message "Loading dired", and then it crashes with "Fatal error (11)." I've appended the backtrace. I know nothing about debugging things; should I do something to get more helpful messages? By the way, I don't have these problems with version 21.2-b40. Buffer listing code > detects minibuffers and such by space at the beginning of buffer > names. I can not see a bug in behavior that you describe. Possibly true, except that I don't have recursive minibuffers enabled, and it was a fairly confusing situation to deal with (which presumably is why recursive minibuffers are disabled by default). The minibuffer was selected in the upper frame and was the only frame showing. I kept getting the 'Cannot switch buffers in minibuffer window' error when trying to switch to another buffer, and ended up having to split the buffers, select the other one (which was now showing a file), and then doing C-X 0 to close the minibuffer 'frame'. If I ever manage to figure out how I did it (your proposed steps won't work, because they'll write-file on whatever buffer is selected, not the minibuffer), I'll post the information.
