Hi Norbert,
During XEmacs package updates, I cannot do signature checks on the
package listing any more, since your PGP key expired at 2007-02-28.
Could you please renew your PGP key, post it on the ftp server
(maybe also on the wwwkeys.pgp.net keyserver, as outlined on XEmacs'
Web page), and resign the package indexes, both the stable and the
experimental one?
That would be greatly appreciated; best wishes for the weekend,
Joachim

Dear Bug Team!
I can't seem to get the line and column numbers to show up
in this version of xemacs. This is a new install (not an upgrade) from yum
in a fairly recently installed Fedora 6. I have used xemacs quite
a bit in the past and never had this problem.
Note that I first checked Options->Display->Line Numbers/Column
numbers. They were selected (Green square).
I then tried to enable the line/column numbers with my init.el using:
(setq line-number-mode t) ;; Put line/column # at the bottom of the page
(setq column-number-mode t).
This doesn't work either.
Thanks for the amazing editor,
Hope this helps,
Daniel

This may have a workaround in recent releases of the 21.4 series. It
would help to identify the problem if you could post the original text
and the exact sequence of corrupt characters.

The current version of XEmacs is 21.4.20. You could try updating to
that, which has a large number of other fixes in it relative to
21.4.17. If that doesn't help, I'm pretty sure there are ways to work
around but without seeing the corruption in question, I don't know
which to apply.

Something is not entirely clear for me: does XFT use one font for all
Mule charsets, or (up to) one font per charset?

My apologies if this has been discussed before, but it
didn't seem like it in the 21.5 code.
I wish all my contributions to XEmacs to be considered
under the GPL V2 only. I do not like Richard Stallman, I
do not like the politics he plays against us and others, but
I do like the GPL V2. Unless someone can convince me
otherwise, all of my contributions to XEmacs are to be
considered GPL V2 only.
BTW, after a couple months of a contract work doing
emacs-lisp coding, I'm soooo proud of you guys. XEmacs rules!

Please describe as succinctly as possible:
- What happened. : couldn't start shell because xemacs couldn't find
Windows/system32/cmd.exe
- What you thought should have happened. Should have been able to
start shell
- Precisely what you were doing at the time. Trying to open a
shell
Looks like Windows/system32/cmd.exe was moved to Windwos/System32/cmd.exe.
Anyone have a fix????

What I meant was that vc-version-other-window should automatically make
the old revision buffer read-only. The optional argument you are proposing
should have the opposite meaning: if t then writable.
The problem for me with changing ediff as you proposed here (apart from the
fact that I think it doesn't need to be changed - only vc should be
changed) is that it won't work with, say fsf's version (since, as I
understand, it will not be changed).

I've found no way but that doesn't mean that there is none ;) Since it is
a feature that every GUI debugger has that I know, it seems quite
surprising for me that xemacs can't do it ...
