Dear Bug Team!
With debug-on-error t I got the following backtrace
Signaling: (wrong-type-argument markerp nil)
mail-yank-original(nil)
call-interactively(mail-yank-original)
I entered xemacs via "xemacs -nw -q".
I then visited file RMAIL (BABYL format), replied to an email message
there (with "rmail-reply"), and then invoked "mail-yank-original".
The fact that I used rmail is perhaps irrelevant. I did note,
however, that VM doesn't use the "mail-yank-original" function from
"sendmail.el"--for the same functionality in that mailer. I'll avoid
making explanations as to why I'm using RMAIL.
I'm implementing the following fix:

Maybe this is a silly question, but I got problems after installing the
latest 21.5 beta version under native win32. Compilation went right but
I wonder about any changes in startup lisp code.
So my question is : is ~/.xemacs/init.el
supposed to be read automatically or is the .emacs compatibility file
created by (create-compatibility-dot-emacs) in startup.el mandatory ?

[Bug: 21.4.13] Hangs during FTP connection attempt

Dear Bug Team!
Every time I try to connect to any type of FTP server using Xemacs, I
get a login request but then it just hangs after that. I only have
this problem when using my PC with XP pro. Unix and Linux don't have
this problem.
Any ideas?

I've run into this before, yes it does have something to do with the
loop, but it is an XEmacs problem. I once asked about it on the MH-E
list and I got the following response...

Some closer investigation is needed before anyone starts ripping Gnus
apart. I'd want to take a look at all the packages that require Gnus
to see exactly what their requirement is. There are bound to be some
that don't need Gnus at all, like TM[1], and others that can easily be
made to not need Gnus.
Other considerations are how will it affect Gnus and its
maintainability? I realise that I'm the obvious candidate for
maintainer of any "gnus-utils" package, but what happens when I'm
gone? Gnus is already split between 6 different packages[2]. That
makes for a confusing time for some poor unsuspecting would-be Gnus
maintainer. [3]

Dear Bug Team!
When I start XEmacs as built for the Solaris Companion CD, the cursor
(the image representing the mouse) gets stuck. For example, if I move
the cursor over the modeline, it changes to a vertical double arrow
(okay). But if I then move it back into a buffer (e.g., *scratch*),
it stays as a double arrow (bad).
This did not happen with 21.1.14.

I have tracked the problem down to the following 2 lines in
sunpro-init.el (in the Sun package):

If I comment out those two lines, the problem goes away.
I don't know if this is a bug in the Sun package or a bug in 21.4.14.
I've looked at the Help and Info descriptions for set-glyph-image, and
so far I'm unable to get my head wrapped around how this stuff is
supposed to work.
I've also tried querying inside Sun to see if anyone understands how
this is supposed to work, without success.
Hyper-Apropos shows the values for the two glyphs as
`nontext-pointer-glyph' (buffer: *Hyper Apropos*, mode: Hyper-Apropos)

Dear Bug Team!
I have font-lock turned on. There is a particular C source file that
I edit a lot, which is larger than font-lock-maximum-size bytes. (The
file is roughly 380KB, and font-lock-maximum-size is set to 256000).
When I first visit the file, the buffer is (correctly) not fontified.
But if I revert the buffer, the buffer is fontified, which I believe
is incorrect; it's certainly not what I want.

I discussed this on newsgroup "comp.emacs.xemac" with Adrian Aichner
on August 5 & 6, 2002. He suggested a bug report. That was with
XEmacs 21.4.8. Now that I encounter the same thing with XEmacs
21.4.12 I am motivated to make the bug report.
The text-mode-hook addition I picked up somewhere as a device to hide
"-*-text-*-" at the start of some of my files that aren't put into
text-mode by having ".txt" or the like in their file names (i.e. by
use of "auto-mode-alist").
